Originally commissioned and performed by Stages Theatre in 2007, Harriet and Walt has been published by Baker's Plays (a division of Samuel French, Inc.). This Kirkeby/Mier musical is based on the book of the same name by Nancy Carlson. Read all about it at the Baker's Plays website here!
Alexander at Delphi was Shirley's thesis for her Master's degree in Composition at the U of M in 2002, written in collaboration with Minrod Mier (script/lyrics). After eight long years, Alexander is coming back to the stage (and to the U of M) - leaner, meaner, and with some new scenes and music - at the Fringe Festival this summer. Look out!

Shirley Mier's and Jennifer Kirkeby's latest adaptation is If You Give a Moose a Muffin, based on the book by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond. This musical will premiere at Stages TheatreJanuary 14, 2011.
Shirley is music-directing the youth orchestra with Stages Theatre's production of Willy Wonka this summer. The show opens June 25 and runs through Aug. 1. Come visit a world of pure imagination! (and there'd better be chocolate too)
